You are what you eat! Learn the
basics of good nutrition. Avoid fat, fatty foods and hidden
fats. On our Nutrition
Guide you'll find links that detail which foods contain higher
percentages of fat. If you want a ribbed stomach these must be avoided.

Avoid eating large meals. Forget the idea of a 'main' meal. Eat six
smaller meals a day and stop when you feel full. This reduces the need
for your body to convert excess carbohydrates into fatty acids for
storage around your stomach. It also reduces the need for your stomach
and intestines to stretch your stomach muscles outwards. |
 |
Stomach
exercises are best done every other day before breakfast. A basic
routine is ten sets of thirty repetitions. Keep the tempo up if
one of your goals is to burn the fat on and around your stomach.
Make sure that you drink lots of juice or water afterwards to help
cleanse your body.

 |
When
doing your stomach exercises concentrate on your 'obliques', the stomach
muscles that run up the side of your stomach and around to your back.
These are exercises involving a twisting crunch. In this way you'll
exercise your central abdominal for 'free' as you go. Pull your stomach
in tighter and faster, and strengthen your back muscles too. |
 |
If
you want the central stomach muscle blocks to grow so that you get
that six-pack look, then do crunches. This is a yoga-like exercise
in which you crunch each central muscle individually until it hurts.
You can feel this by pushing with the tip of your finger. If you
do it right you will sweat loads, move only slightly and cry out
from the pain.
