How does it work?

Iron is an essential component in your red blood cells. Oxygen comes into contact with your blood via your lungs and is transported by an iron-protein complex to all the cells in your body. This way your whole body can breathe and sustain your energy levels.

Iron can mainly be found in red meat, liver and other organs. The vegetable form of iron can for example be found in beans and peas, unfortunately this iron is harder to absorb than that out of red meat.

A healthy minimum daily dose for non-active persons is 18 mg a day. Women get on average 10 mg a day and men that eat red meat and vegetables get about 15-20 mg a day. Women often need more iron during their monthly periods. For active athletes, such as marathon runners, it is always wise to consider iron supplementation.

An iron shortage can occur due to bad absorption (because of digestive complications), bad eating habits or lots of stress.

Iron, as a natural hermine-iron form, is found in meat and has an absorption of 20 - 35%. This against 0.9 - 2.9% absorption of most of the non hermine-iron on the market. Hermine-iron is considered the sensible choice as it does not have any of the side effects like the synthetic iron-supplements.

Hermine-iron is also used by professional cyclist to keep their levels up in a healthy way. All other active people, "busy little bees", the elderly and women can also profit from this.

Active ingredients

Every tablet contains 1.3 mg organic hermine-iron (EU-RDA 9%) from 500 mg animal protein.

Recommended Daily Intake
