To
win competitions at top level you will need to manage matters
consistently, numerically, and in great detail. Athletes asking
us for high-level advice should send us progressive numeric reports
covering their competition results, training results, nutrition
and target objectives.

Athletes
should plan their day from start to finish. Training, diet, supplements
and rest periods should all be planned and balanced. We can advise
you only on your diet and the necessary supplements. |
 |
As
your training and competition agenda changes, so should your diet
and program of supplements. Are you building power or extending
your endurance? Basic concepts are outlined in the tips provided
for power athletes and endurance athletes.
|
 |
Almost
all power athletes use creatine,
so don't let anyone fool you. |
 |
Almost
all distance athletes use complex
carbs, chrome,
and l-carnitine
professionally. |
 |
Learn
about carbohydrates and carbo-loading from your coach. In the
simplest of terms it involves making sure that you drink at least
500 ml of complex
carbs immediately after training sessions and races so that
your body learns how to increase the amount of energy (glycogen) your
muscle tissues can store. |
 |
Learn
about how to get good protein from food. Soy is the worst, milk
and dairy products are better, eggs are ok, meat is all right but
often contains a lot of fat, fish is great and contains lots of other
good stuff too. If you need to supplement your protein ONLY use whey
protein products day and night.
|
 |
When
deciding which supplements to use you should consider
your immune system, before you consider supplements that help
increase stamina or strength. |
 |
Maintaining
your joints is crucial and yet most athletes only pay attention
to them when they cause pain. Adjust your food to help prevent wear-and-tear
and supplement
with glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate. |
 |
And
last but not least avoid taking caffeine or other stimulants
regularly, as these are just short-term solutions. Herbal teas and
herbal
supplements are preferable and performance-enhancing. |
